The Positive Impact Book Awards is proud to honor Faith, Cancer, God’s Miracle with the Gold Impact Award. Ray Scott’s courage, honesty, and unshakable spirit serve as a beacon for readers everywhere — a testament to how faith can carry us through even the darkest valleys and bring us out stronger, healed, and transformed.

From the very first page, Faith, Cancer, God’s Miracle radiates with conviction, vulnerability, and unwavering belief. Ray Scott invites readers into the most intimate and difficult chapter of his life, a battle with cancer that became a divine proving ground for faith, healing, and the miraculous.
Scott’s story is more than a personal testimony, it is a living reminder of the power of belief in the face of fear.
One moment that especially stood out to our judges was when his doctor posed the life-defining question: "Do you truly believe in your healing?" That single question, and Scott’s unshakable response, set the tone for a narrative that is both spiritually charged and deeply human.
The book carries the reader through a journey of pain, uncertainty, and divine intervention. Many of our judges noted how impactful it was to read a story that references faith healers like Benny Hinn — anchoring Scott’s experience in a wider spiritual tradition. Yet what makes Faith, Cancer, God’s Miracle so unique is its personal voice.
It’s not a story of quick answers or easy triumphs — it's a journey through doubt, diagnosis, and divine restoration.
Interview with Ray Scott
We had the opportunity to ask Ray some questions from our team and Judges. Ray, thank you for sharing your heart and your incredible journey with us. Your testimony is a powerful reminder that faith and courage walk hand in hand, and that God's miracles are still very much alive today.

Q: Your book is described as both a testimony of faith and survival. When you look back, do you see your journey more as a fight for life, or as a walk of faith—or do the two feel inseparable?
A: I do know that the both Fight and Faith are inseparable, because without Faith in God, the Fight Will overcome you.
Q: You share openly about surviving Stage Four colon cancer. What was the moment you first felt that God’s hand was guiding you through this storm?
A: From the moment that the doctors came into my hospital room to give me and my wife the diagnosis, we were watching Michael Landing’s show “Highway to Heaven” an episode of a women going through cancer.
Q: Your testimony reminds us that God often reveals His presence through people. Was there a particular person or act of kindness that became a turning point for you during treatment
A: 10 days after being diagnosed Pastor Billy Rash of Kern Christian Center asked me to give God’s Testimony of saving me from what should have taken my life from the start to his church, where I sang the song “People Need The Lord” where 25 to 30 people came to the platform to Praise God without a call for people. The Holy Spirit clearly said to me “This is What It Is For”
Q: Readers call your story “relatable and personal.” How did you balance the vulnerability of sharing your most difficult moments with the responsibility of encouraging others?
A: I have been Blessed since my childhood as an Alter boy in the Catholic Church, knowing that life’s purpose is to Honor God and Encourage Others, as it was lived out for me by family and priests in my life.
Q: Faith and healing are at the core of your book. In what ways did your definition of “miracle” change before and after your diagnosis?
A: My definition of a Miracle has always been that a Miracle’s purpose is to Honor God and Encourage Others Amen. My resolve was for this was just deepened in me.
Q: Many readers say your book feels like sitting with a friend who understands. What message do you hope someone battling cancer or supporting a loved one takes away most from your words?
A: Know that God Loves You and use those around us from every part of your life to complete “His Perfect Will” God gave me this phrase to explain this: “It was God’s people like you, who encouraged me from moment to moment, until I was in the right place and time, to perform His Miracle in my Life”
Q: Looking back on your journey, what advice would you give to others who hope to turn their personal experiences into meaningful stories for the world?
A:With a pure intent to Honor God and Encourage Others God will use it.
Q: Your journey is one of both pain and triumph. Looking back, what gave you the courage to keep believing when the odds seemed overwhelming?
A: God used my time in the Marine Corps as a Chaplin for a Special Operations Unit, to deepened my resolve in Trusting God in every part of my life, while helping the unit through 2 deaths in the unit.
Q: The length of your book was noted as “just right”, concise yet powerful. Was it intentional to keep the message short and accessible, almost like a living testimony someone could return to again and again?
