About the Author

Dianne A. Miller is a Christian Missionary who gave her life to the Lord at a very young age. As a child, she grew up being taught about the Lord by her mother, Lizzie M. Alston, and grandmother, Everlena Goode. They have both gone home to be with the Lord, but she gives them credit for the woman she is today. She honors them by saying, “They are gone but not forgotten.”

Dianne is a faithful servant who uses her God-given gifts in various forms to serve others. She participated in her church choir, served on the usher board, and taught Sunday School for over 25 years. Today, she continues working for the Lord as an online Prayer Warrior, a motivational speaker who speaks at jails and prisons or wherever needed. Her missionary work for over 30 years has carried her across many boundaries, such as street ministering, nursing homes, and hospitals.

Q & A with the Author

What inspired you to write this book, and what was the writing process like?

I see a lot of people going through life and going through hard times and it breaks my heart. I know when someone says an uplifting word to me, it makes me feel good and that's what I wanted to do with this book. I wanted to create a book with quotes that uplift people's spirits.

Sometimes when I'm at work and I'm just sitting there, the Lord gives me inspirational thoughts and I jot them down. Honestly, these thoughts bless and encourage me, so I decided to put them in a book.

What kind of impact do you hope this book will have on readers?

First of all, to encourage them. Secondly, I hope it helps them to meditate on the Word, whether it's a scripture or a quote. I would love for them to share the book with other people and let them know that there is hope in a world like we're living in and that you can be encouraged and uplifted.

"If it lifts up your spirit, meditate on it"

Can you tell us about any personal experiences or struggles that inspired the quotes in this book?

My life. I've been through so many things. I've had people hurt me and talk about me but I didn't let it break me. I read a scripture in the bible that said, "Encourage yourself" and that scripture stayed with me. Don't look for other people to encourage you, because you're not going to get that all the time. You have to be able to encourage yourself as well.

How do you think readers can best incorporate the wisdom of this book into their daily lives?

Have an open mind. Once you get the book and read it, have an open mind. Sometimes, people read books and look for criticism. I want readers to let the words speak to them. Let the words penetrate your spirit and help you find inner strength. I hope the words in my book can encourage and uplift the readers to help them through tough times.

Which quote from the book resonates with you the most, and why?

The one where satan tries to whisper in my ear and I say, "You can't touch this." I pick that one because a lot of the time when I'm praying, the enemy tries to come in, "Oh this isn't gonna happen" or "Why don't you give it up" or "You can't write a book." No matter what the enemy comes at me and tries to say, I don't let it become true.

What role do you think faith plays in overcoming obstacles and achieving inner strength and peace?

Believe in God. You have to believe in God. I don't care how bad the situation is. I don't care what you have been through. I don't care what you're going through, you have to trust God. You can't see it but you know it's going to happen. When you can't see a way out but you're trusting God, despite what anyone else says, knowing that God is going to fix it.

In the story of Abraham, Abraham didn't believe God at first. God had to show Abraham something. Just like me, just like you. We all have not believed and trusted God to a certain extent, but once He shows us and we experience something, we know that He can do it. I have that faith and the readers should have faith too.
